Soul Knight is one of the better dungeon crawlers on Android, and it shows its indie roots in a good way. The pixel art is expressive, the controls are well-adapted for touchscreen, and the sheer volume of characters, weapons, and room types means runs stay fresh well past the initial hours. Each character plays noticeably differently, and weapon synergies give the game more depth than the genre typically demands.
The roguelite loop is balanced toward accessibility rather than hardcore punishment, which is fine for mobile — death doesn’t sting too hard and you accumulate permanent unlocks at a reasonable pace. Co-op multiplayer is a genuine addition, not an afterthought. That said, later-game content starts to blur together, and the upgrade path slows down considerably without spending on in-app purchases.
ChillyRoom supports the game actively, with regular updates and new characters added over time. The monetization is cosmetic-heavy and not too aggressive for the genre. For a mobile action-RPG, Soul Knight punches above its class.
Verdict: A well-crafted mobile roguelite with real depth and decent multiplayer, though late-game pacing drags without spending.
