About Skyhop

Bounce up an endless stack of platforms without falling off the bottom. There is no jump button. The bounce happens on its own every time you land, so the whole game is steering, and your score is your height multiplied by ten.

How to play

Slide the on-screen stick left and right to steer. Landing on a platform launches you again automatically, so you are lining up the next one rather than timing a jump. The column also wraps sideways.

Rules of Skyhop

  • Green platforms are safe, blue ones slide side to side, and brown ones give you one bounce before they crumble away.
  • Yellow springs launch you about 1.8 times as high as a normal bounce.
  • Crumbling platforms only appear above a height of 25 and sliding ones above 45.
  • Fall below the bottom of the screen and the run is over. There are no lives.

Controls

  • Drag the on-screen stick left and right to steer
  • Arrow keys or A and D on a keyboard, left stick on a gamepad
  • Bouncing is automatic, so there is no jump input

What makes it worth playing

  • An endless climb scored at ten points per unit of height, with your best saved between sessions
  • Difficulty ramps until a height of 300, where crumbling platforms are 22 percent of spawns
  • Two medals to unlock, one for riding a spring and one for a score of 1000
  • Options for volume, screen shake, and resetting your best score

Tips from playing it

  • Look above your character, not at it. You need to plan the next platform, not the current one.
  • Gaps run 3.5 to 5.5 units and a normal bounce clears about 7.4, so every platform above you is reachable.
  • Use the wrap. When the next platform is far to your left, going right off the edge is the shorter trip.

Why this game is here, and what we changed

Picked from the MIT-licensed LittleJS Arcade by Frank Force after checking the licence at source rather than trusting the repository label, and after confirming the game makes no requests to any other site. We host it on our own servers, so it loads straight into the game with no third-party ad code and no pre-roll video. We played it through on a real phone-sized screen on 2026-08-26 before publishing this page, and the screenshots above are from that session rather than from the original project.

More on how we pick and fix these: what we changed in the open-source games and how we test a game.
