Hand Daily
About Hand Daily
Hand Daily is a poker roguelite in miniature. You get eight cards, five antes, and a run that either grows into something or falls apart in your hand. Pick a hand of one to five cards, play it for chips, and chase a rising score target before you run out of plays. Between antes you pick a joker that reshapes how your hands score, so a run that starts as ordinary pairs can end with a stack of multipliers that turns a flush into a four-figure number. Daily mode gives everyone the same deal each day, so a good run is a real comparison, not luck against a different shuffle. Adventure mode stretches the climb to eight antes for players who want a longer sit, and Endless keeps going until a bad hand finally ends it.
How to play
Tap up to five cards from your hand to select them, then hit Play to score that hand or Discard to swap it out. You get a set number of plays and discards per ante. Clear the target score before you run out of plays and you move on to pick a joker and face a bigger number next round.
Controls
- Tap a card to add it to your selection, tap again to deselect
- Play to score your selected cards as a poker hand
- Discard to swap out selected cards for new ones from the deck
- Tap a joker shop card to buy it between antes
What makes it worth playing
- Standard poker hands from pair up to royal flush, no new rules to learn
- Five antes per run in Daily mode, eight in Adventure, unlimited in Endless
- A joker shop between antes with multiplicative synergies that compound across a run
- Daily mode deals the same seed to everyone, so a screenshot is a fair brag
- Three discards per ante, so holding out for a better hand has a real cost
- Run history and a streak counter for daily play

Tips from playing it
- Count your discards before you count your outs. Three discards per ante sounds generous until you spend two chasing a flush that never lands.
- Buy jokers that multiply rather than add, once you have the coins to be picky. A flat bonus helps the ante you buy it in; a multiplier helps every ante after.
- Play a smaller sure hand early in an ante rather than gambling your last play on a big one. A pair that clears the target beats a busted straight that doesn't.
- Watch the target curve, not just the current ante. Antes 4 and 5 jump hard, so a joker that looked fine early can stop being enough.
Notes from building it
The whole design bet was that a standard 52-card deck needs zero tutorial, so every design hour could go into the joker layer instead of teaching poker hands. That meant the shop had to reward planning a build, not just picking the biggest number on screen, so jokers multiply each other rather than stacking as flat bonuses. The other call was the daily seed. A random shuffle makes every run its own story, which is fun once, but it also means two players can never compare a run honestly. Handing everyone the same deck on the same day turns a solo run into a shared puzzle, which is the retention hook the whole roguelite loop is built to support.
