Racing Games

The two games in this section want opposite things from you, and they are worth playing back to back for exactly that reason. Lane Rush is ours and keeps to three lanes so the whole game sits under one thumb, and it pays a bonus for squeezing past another car close enough that it almost feels like a clip. There is no circuit to memorise and no wheel to fumble with, only quick lane changes and a rising sense of how fine you are willing to cut it. Dust Circuit is the traditional shape: a loop under a sunset with sixty seconds on it, where your score climbs with your speed and two wheels on the dirt cut that rate until you haul the car back onto the tarmac. It rewards learning the racing line of one course rather than reacting to traffic generated a second ago. Both load in a tab and restart instantly, so a bad attempt costs about two seconds of your time and nothing else at all.
