Strategy Games
Planet Siege is the only game in this section, and it earns the room. It is a small real time war over ten to fifteen worlds, where everything you hold builds ships by itself and a fleet crosses the gap one ship at a time while the defender keeps on building. The only question worth asking is what will be waiting when yours lands, because a fleet that arrives short simply donates itself to the garrison it was sent to take. The three settings are not decoration. On Skirmish you open with seventy ships against twenty and the opponent misjudges a garrison by up to a third, which is enough slack to learn on. On Siege it starts with fifty against your forty, reads every number on the map exactly, and picks a fresh target roughly once a second. There is no save and nothing to unlock, so a game runs four to ten minutes and then the map is gone.
