Soft Landing shrinks its landing pad and cuts your fuel on every level, but both of those stop. The pad bottoms out at a little over half its starting width and the fuel floor is 42 units against a starting 80, after which the difficulty is the terrain and your own descent rather than an ever tightening budget. A touchdown only counts if all three contact points, both feet and the body base, come down inside the pad, which sounds forgiving until you notice that thrust pushes along wherever the nose is pointed, so every correction starts with a turn and every turn costs fuel that gravity is waiting for you to run out of. There is exactly one problem in this game, controlling a falling object against a fuel budget, and it does not pretend to be about anything else. Because it runs in a browser tab, a crash costs a restart and nothing more, so it can afford to be unforgiving without being a punishment.
